EYFS General Teaching Assistant

Monarch Education are working in partnership with a warm and friendly, 2 form entry Primary School within the M15 area of Manchester, who are looking for a full time member of staff to join their supportive team.

Roles and Responsibilities:

As an EYFS General Teaching Assistant with experience in a nurture provision, you will play a vital role in supporting the holistic development of our young learners. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with children on a one-to-one or small group basis, providing targeted support and tailored interventions.
  • Creating a nurturing and inclusive environment that fosters the emotional well-being and social development of all students.
  • Collaborating with the teacher and other professionals to plan and implement individualised learning strategies for children with additional needs.
  • Supporting children with personal care tasks, as required.
  • Promoting positive behaviour management strategies and implementing the school’s behaviour policy.
  • Assisting with the preparation of learning materials and maintaining a safe and stimulating learning environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A level 2 or above qualification is desirable but not essential
  • Previous experience working within a nursery or early years setting, preferably with experience in a nurture provision.
  • Sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and development milestones.
  • Knowledge of nurturing and attachment theories and the ability to implement nurturing approaches in practice.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with children with diverse needs.
