Teaching Assistant

Role

Monarch Education are working on behalf of a "Good" Primary School in Tipton (DY4) to assist them in the recruitment of a Primary Teaching Assistant to start ASAP; if successful, this may lead to a permanent contract.

Key Responsibilities of a Primary Teaching Assistant

  • Helping to create a stimulating and motivating environment for children
  • Assisting the teaching staff by monitoring and evaluating pupils' progress
  • Supporting the teaching staff to implement the Primary curriculum by providing booster and intervention sessions to raise standards within the classroom
  • Understanding the emotional and social needs of pupils
  • Working with a child's strengths and weaknesses to support their development and progress
  • Being able to build a good rapport with teachers and children alike

To be considered for this Teaching Assistant role, you must have:

  • Hold a Level 2 or 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification
  • Strong National Curriculum knowledge
  • Have eligibility to work in the UK or be a UK resident
  • Have at least 6 months school based experience of working in a UK primary school setting
  • Two suitable references covering the last 2 years
  • Hold a current DBS that is registered with the update service or be willing to apply for a new one

Additional requirements:

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment. All staff must hold an enhanced DBS disclosure which must also be registered to the Update Service (or be prepared to allow Monarch Education to process one for you), need to provide professional or academic references* and attend a face to face interview (due to Covid-19 this will now be a video interview). A prohibition from teaching check will be completed for all applicants.
